Hey there and welcome to my page! I'm Hanna Chapman and I am the owner and photographer of Johnson Branch Photography. I am based in Cynthiana, KY, but I love to travel and will go just about anywhere for a great photo. If you love my photos, but think you might be too far away, don't be afraid to contact me and we can chat about it!
Before we get into my background in photography, I'll tell you a little about me. I'm married and live on a mini farm. We have goats, chickens, a token turkey we named Chauncey, our beloved hunting dogs (Beagles and Treeing Walker Coonhounds), and our retired war dog, Molli. She is a Belgian Malinois and she served in Iraq as a bomb detection dog. We lost our first war hero, Dino, to liver cancer in March. We miss him dearly and his service should also be mentioned. He was a drug and bomb detection K9 in Afghanistan, he also did patrol and protection, and he was our best buddy. <3
I love to be outside in the woods, hiking, fishing, hunting, with the animals, or in the garden. I love to read and my husband and I LOVE to travel. We find ourselves scuba diving in the Caribbean a couple times a year.
For added fun, I also teach part time at Chatfield College in the business and information sciences departments, which I really enjoy!
So back to photography!! I started in photography in high school, learning on black and white film in a dark room with the best photography/art teacher anyone could hope for. (Thank you Mrs. Carr)!! I'm fairly positive I spent 6 of my 7 classes my senior year in the art rooms or in the FFA room (Hi Mr. Clark)!! For both of these teachers I am forever thankful!
My senior year (2001), I was hired to shoot my first wedding (Thanks Dr. Lavinder)!! From high school I went on to college receiving a bachelors in Art from Wilmington College in Ohio. I was able to intern at a photography studio while there that taught me so much and I also served as the photo editor for the college paper. I later went on to earn a Masters in Business Administration focused on Entrepreneurship from Ashland University. Through all of the college years I continued to build my photography business, learned new ways to edit, better shooting and posing techniques while working full time as a 911 dispatcher. In 2017, I decided to take a huge leap of faith and left the job security that emergency services offers, moved to Kentucky, and made my business full time!
I love all kinds of photography and offer services in most genres; weddings, seniors, families, kiddos, babies, maternity, teams, schools, events, product, creative, and I also have an Etsy shop full of nature, wildlife, travel, and other home decor, and custom photography prints.
My goal is to create beautiful, mostly real (I've been known to photoshop in a dragon or loch ness monster here and there), images that you will love! I always prefer to shoot in natural light, but I am also happy to shoot at an indoor location chosen by you and will come equipped with studio lights if needed!
Please feel free to take a look around the site, visit my social media sites, shoot me a message on here, facebook, email, or call/text me! I'd love to chat, discuss your photo session, and answer any questions you have!
